Udupi, Apr 7: Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, Udupi unit staged a protest in front of Inox talkies, Manipal here on Friday, April 7 opposing the release of Bahubali – 2 film over objectionable content.

Addressing the Prasanna Kumar, state convenor of Karnataka Rakshana vedike Udupi said, "The actor Sathyaraj who played Kattappa role had recently abused Kannadigas using swear words on the issue Kauveri water. KKV condemns this and thereby the film release."









"Sathyajit used insensitive words and insulted Kannadiga women activists and played prejudices," said the Vedike demanding an apology by the actor to all Kannadigas.

"He hurts the feelings of Kannadigas , it is condemnable. If the film is released, protests will take a serious note. He (the actor) badgered the self esteem of the people of Karnataka. There is needed to oppose such acts," said Prasanna Shetty.

District president Ansar Ahmed, Praveen Barkur, Shahil Rehaman and others were present.

The talkies cancelled the show after the protest.

    Praveen Shetty needs to be congratulated for supporting local sentiments and local interests in Bengaluru.

    He is a pioneer of sorts, having taught a lesson to Marathi Mayor of Belgaum who was creating rift between marathis and locals in Belgaum area.
