Sullia, Apr 7: In an information that has come out into the open with inordinate delay, a man from Madikeri, who had come to KVG Hospital here to see his father-in-law who was being treated there, was taken away in a car and murdered. The victim has been identified as Ravi, a resident Talat Mane Madikeri.
Ravi's father-in-law, who was injured in a road accident at Madikeri, was admitted into KVG Hospital here. Ravi had come to the town on March 31 to see his relative. Thereafter, he had not reached his home. A missing complaint was thereafter filed in the police station here. The police, who undertook investigation, found through CCTV footage at the hospital that a youth had taken Ravi away with him in a car.
Further investigation led police to Dalu from Madikeri. During Dalu's interrogation, they came to know that Ravi was murdered. Ravi had borrowed six lac rupees from Dalu. He had returned three lac rupees thereafter. It is said that Ravi was dithering in the matter of repaying the balance amount. On March 31, Dalu's nephew, Jeevan, had come to KVG medical college. He offered a lift to Ravi, after finding him in the hospital compound. Ravi was abducted to Madikeri in the car where Dalu, Jeevan and others together killed Ravi and tossed his body into a gorge, it is learnt.
The police, who have taken Dalu into custody, are searching for Jeevan.
