Udupi, Apr 7: Madhusudan Rao, son of the late Vishnumurthy Rao, residing in Kannarpady here, who is a partner of Hitech Medicare Hospital here has filed a police complaint, alleging that general power of attorney (GPA) was got made in his name when he was in the USA by faking his signature, with the purpose of cheating him by other partners of the hospital.
Rao says that when working in USA, he used to remit large funds for constructing this hospital. When he came back to the country in 2012, accused Pradeep Kumar, Vadiraja Kunder, Dr T S Rao, Dr Jahnavi Rao, Shashikala, Pushpa and Vani Rao had blocked him from entering the hospital.
Shocked by this behaviour, he said he went to Canara Bank's town branch where the hospital accounts are maintained. He says that he found from the bank that a GPA issued in his name in favour of Pradeep Kumar was handed over to the bank on July 15, 2006. He checked at Katapadi branch of Canara Bank and there too realized that special power attorney (SPA) given in favour of first accused was filed there. Both the GPA and SPA were got prepared through advocate and notary from the town, Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde.
In his complaint, Madhusudhan Rao said he was in USA when these documents were prepared, and in his absence, first and second accused, in connivance with the other accused, had faked the signature of Madhusudhan Rao and created documents with the specific aim of cheating him. He says that they had also projected fraudulently made document as real, which is a crime.
A case in this connection stands registered in the town police station here. Police are investigating.
