Udupi, Apr 6: Five more men belonging to sand mafia, accused of attempted murder of Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis, Kundapur assistant commissioner, Village Accountant Kantaraju and DC Gun man Prathwiraj were arrested on Thursday April 6.

The number of arrests in the case has gone up to 13. The arrested five accused are Goraknath (40), Boothan (55), Anil (24), Saravan (25) all resident of Uttar Pradesh and Ravi (27) resident of Dharwad.

Seven accused including Mohammed Nadeem Kavradi (21), Abdul Sattar Khan Bhatkal (29), Subba Ranganakere Barkur (27), Mohammed Shakeel Kandlooru (27), Safan Mukthafar Karwadi (26) and injured Bhasker Mogaveera were arrested earlier. Except Bhasker, the remaining six are in judicial custody.

The five other accused, arrested at Kandlooru on Thursday, April 6 are identified as Bhootan, Bhorak Nath, Saravan, Rajesh and Ravi. They are all said to be residents of Kandlooru.
