Puttur: Accident at Kaniyoor - bike rider killed, pillion rider injured

Puttur, Apr 4: An accident which happened at Punchattar in Kaniyoor village in the taluk on Monday April 3 evening, the bike rider lost his life, while the pillion rider survived with serious injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Chandrahas (30), resident of Koorelu Kukkanaje in Dolpady village. Pillion rider, Anand (35), son of Ambody from Marakada in Dolpady village, who suffered grave injuries, stands admitted into a hospital at Mangaluru. The motor bike skidded when it was moving through Punchattar.

When the two friends were moving in the bike driven by Chandrahas to Nintikal, the vehicle met with an accident at Bobbekery in Punchattar. Chandrahas suffered serious injuries to his head while Anand's face took the brunt of the impact. The injured were immediately taken to a private hospital in Kaniyoor before being referred to government hospital here. Chandrahas died on the way. Anand was later sent to Mangaluru hospital taking into account the gravity of his injuries.

Chandrahas is survived by parents, wife, a son, a daughter, and siblings. A case about the accident was filed in Bellare police station.
