With CCTVs monitoring, nearly 50,000 students in DK, Udupi sit for SSLC exams

Mangaluru/Udupi, Mar 30: SSLC examinations will begin from Thursday, March 30 and proper arrangements have been made to hold them smoothly till April 12.

A few changes have been made to the rules and regulations concerning the examinations. All the exams will start at 9.30 am and will end at 12.30 pm except for Hindi which is held till 12 noon.

Students should enter the exam room at 9.15 am during the first bell. There will another bell at 9.25 am when the supervisors will receive the question papers. At 9.30 am, a third and final will be heard when the question papers will be distributed to students. After that no student will be allowed to enter the exam room unlike in the past when students were allowed to come till half an hour after the exams began.

Question and answer papers are distributed separately this time.

Teachers are not allowed to carry mobile phones inside the exam rooms.

Students are not allowed to exit the exam rooms with question papers before the exams are over.

It is expected that around 8.77 lac students will appear for the exam out of which approximately 4.69 lac are boys, while 4.07 lac are girls.There are approximately 2,770 examination centres across the state.

As many as 33,518 students are writing exams from Dakshina Kannada district out of which 17,267 are boys and 16,251 are girls.

In Udupi district, a total of 15,583 students, including 1,212 private ones, are appearing for the SSLC examinations. Out of them, 7,213 are boys and 7,158 girls.

There are 50 general and two private exam centers set up. CCTVs have been installed at all centers to supervise the examinations and avoid malpractices.

Section 144 has been imposed within a radius of 200 metres of the exam centers.
