Bengaluru, Mar 29: As per current indications, union ministry is likely to be expanded soon, and the BJP high command which is determined to wrest back power during next assembly elections due in Karnataka in 2018, is planning to provide ministerial berths to two MPs from here. As per current indications, two among the three, Suresh Angadi who represents Belagavi constituency, Haveri MP Shivakumar Udasi, and Rajya Sabha member Prabhakar Kore, are likely to get the nod.
Towards wooing the voters, BJP wants to follow the strategy of appeasing Lingayats and backward classes, at the instance of state level leaders of the party. Lingayat community's presence is considerable in Mumbai Karnataka region. So, a Lingayat MP from here may become a minister. A person from backward community from Hyderabad Karnataka region may also be made a minister.

The expansion of the central ministry will take place after the budget session of the parliament which will end on April 12. It is said that the plan of the party of getting upper hand in Uttar Pradesh by giving more representation to that state in the central ministry has paid rich dividends and therefore the leadership is keen on implementing this scheme in Karnataka too.
