Mangaluru: Consumer orders trimmer, Flipkart sends him stones

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP/PMD)

Mangaluru, Mar 29: A person who placed order online for an item was in for surprise when he opened the parcel. He found that it contained stones instead of trimmer that he had ordered for. The person who was taken for a raid in this fashion was Gaurav B Kottary from Ira near here.

Gaurav had placed an order for a trimmer of Philips make through online shopping firm, 'Flipkart'. The trimmer costs Rs 1,500. As the service of courier delivery is not available in Ira region, he had given the delivery address of his aunt living at Kottara here. The parcel was received at the house of his aunt on March 25, and the family members had taken delivery by making payment.

As painting of the house was going on, the parcel was kept aside after receipt. Gaurav, who was busy with PU examination, went to his aunt's home after examination on Monday. Upon inspection, he found stones inside the parcel instead of trimmer. The company's customer care department, when contacted, told Gaurav that the matter would be looked into. So far, no police complaint has been filed.

Speaking to daijiworld, Gaurav said, "The parcel arrived at my aunt's place on Saturday. As the order does not get delivered to our residence, it was placed from there. I had exams then, so I collected it on Monday. The invoice which looked like a photocopy, was dated February 9, and had the name and address of a buyer from Uttar Pradesh. The box looked old, with adhesive tape on it.

"I have shopped many a time with Flipkart but this is the first time I have come across something like this. I have not heard of stones getting delivered before either," said Gaurav.

Gaurav placed a return request on the shopping site, but it did not solve the matter. "The person who came to take back the parcel asked me to call the customer care to look into the matter. I will get to know about the final outcome of the complaint this evening," Gaurav said.

Never pay until & unless you see the items. If they refuse to agree to open the item let them take it back.

Nowadays these frauds happens quite common way. We order for certain items according to the item with picture given. But they send low quality of materials or other items which are not indented by us thus fooling us. Few are good. But some online shops like shopclues are not up to mark. Even inspite of our writing to them they repeat the same mistake. sometime in transit such exchange business happens. better to ban those online marketing shops who violate rules and conditions.

I ordered an item through s...c..s and the amount paid in advance as there was extra charge for COD. I haven't received the item and they are claiming that it's already delivered. in this case the buyer from Uttam Pradesh is the culprit...he kept the item and returned stone as returns are easy in online shopping.
seller did not bother to check the returned package and shipped the same box when he got new order.
just look at the address of buyer..total fraud.

While buying from online people should record unboxing in mobile compulsorily. These kind of fraud done by lower level staff while forwarding items. Sometimes courier boys also doing the same be cautious. But the company package could not be opened and closed easily. If u examine u will come to know it was opened earlier of not .

Now a days these type of frauds happening while purchasing in e commerce. My suggestions( which i am also following ) :-
1.You should not make any delay in opening the box which is bought from E commerce.
    2. Record the entire unboxing procedure on your mobile showing the bill details, unopened box in the beginning.
If you found any abnormally you can use this video as a evidence to get your money back or replacement. In this case there is a delay in opening and nobody will trust you for the loss.
