Karkala, Mar 27: A criminal case stands registered in rural police station here against eight Bajrang Dal activists. The group of activists allegedly entered a house at Halekki in Durga village near here, brandished weapons and hurled expletives against the woman in the house with evil intent and threatened to kill her.
Raghavendra from Miyaru Paddaibettu, a staff at the local MLA's office, is the primary suspect. Sandeep, Sunil, Nagaraju, Chandrahasa, Santhosh and Prakash are the other suspects.
The group had allegedly planned a conspiracy to start a communal unrest on Sunday afternoon. They had spread propaganda that cows are slaughtered in the house.
Hayath Bee(50), the woman in the house who got scared with the raid by the Bajrang Dal activists, screamed for her life which made people in the vicinity rush, catch some of the suspects and hand them over to the rural station police.
Raghavendra, the kingpin of the incident has complained in the rural police station of counter assault on him and others. He has alleged that Shadath, Abeed, Sukuru, Arshad and other ten people waylaid them when they were walking on Tellaru road and assaulted them.
Worsening security
Activists of the organization have tried systematically to create disturbances in Karkal and Moodbidri in the past months. However it is observed that the police are registering cases against the victims. Absence of suitable police action against trouble makers has made the incidents recur.
Arrests of suspects
Rural station police have made ten arrests following complaints from both the parties.
