Mysuru, Mar 27: State BJP president and former chief minister, B S Yeddyurappa, said that he is planning to file defamation suit against Congress leaders who seek to slur his image by taunting him as 'jailed' person in the coming days.
Speaking as an electioneering meeting held at Badanavalu village in Nanjangud taluk on Sunday March 26, Yeddyurappa said Siddaramaiah and MP Dhruvanarayana should be ashamed of themselves. "I will be filing case against those who hoisted fake cases against me and made me to get confined behind the four walls of the jail," he stated.
Yeddyurappa noted that the state is reeling under acute drought and that farmers and others are suffering for want of employment opportunities, while the cattle are starving for want of fodder. "In spite of this problem, district in-charge ministers are not undertaking tour of their districts to get to know the problems of people by visiting their places. The entire state ministry is now camping in Nanjangud and Gundlupet. They have been trying to divide people on the basis of their castes, which is dangerous. Unfortunatately, the CM is lending his support to these activities. The minisiters are spreading hatred between people from different castes," he said.
BJP candidate, V Srinivas Prasad, said that he believes in daredevil acts, and compared Siddaramaiah to a frog confined to a well as he is tied up with state politics alone. "I was in the parliament for 25 years and have wide experience. Siddaramaiah has inflicted on me agony and sufferings which I never went through during my long political career. Siddaramaiah is intoxicated with power. I will see that the intoxication wears off by winning this bypoll," he said.
Yeddyuurppa promised to waive farm loan if BJP rises to power in the state in 2018 election. MP Shobha Karandlaje, former ministers, V Somanna, Hartalu Halappa, former MLA, A R Krishnamurty and several others participated.
