The fire was sighted after it rose in size at around 1 am on Monday. As there was no one in the building at the time and the road in front of the restaurant was deserted, no one had initially noticed the fire. The staff of the police station located opposite the hotel called the hotel owner and the fire brigade on seeing the fire spreading inside the building. By the time the fire brigade came and doused the fire, many items including refrigerators, air-conditioners, furniture etc got burnt down.
