Dhoni's phones lost in hotel fire found

New Delhi, March 19 (IANS): Police on Sunday recovered the three mobile phones of former Indian cricket skipper M.S. Dhoni that went missing after a hotel blaze from a firefighter.

The recovery happened a day after Dhoni filed a complaint about his missing phones.

A firefighter mistakenly took out the mobile phones without knowing its ownership, Deputy Commissioner of Police Surender Kumar told IANS.

"It was an error of judgment when he and three staff entered the room to sanitize it. When police contacted him, he handed over the phones," added the officer.

A complaint was filed by Dhoni on Saturday after his mobiles, including an iPhone, went missing during a fire at WelcomHotel on Friday.

Dhoni and his Jharkhand cricket team members had rushed out of the hotel as smoke filled their rooms. He forgot to carry some of his belongings including the phones.

When he got back to his room after the fire was put out, he found that his mobile phones were missing, Kumar said.
