India reach 503/6 against Australia at tea on Day 4


Ranchi, March 19 (IANS): Cheteshwar Pujara (190 not out) and Wriddhiman Saha (99 not out) helped India reach 503 for six in their first innings against Australia at tea on the fourth day of the third Test here on Sunday.

Resuming the session at 435/6, Pujara and Saha continued their partnership as they put India ahead by 52 runs against Australia's first innings of 451 all out.

Now, the unbroken seventh-wicket partnership between Pujara and Saha stands at 175 runs as the visitors remained wicketless in the day's play.

Pujara's 505-ball knock has put him on top of the pile in the record for most balls faced in an innings by an Indian batsman.

The Saurashtra right-hander hit 20 fours.
