Atrocious. What business have people to judge a lady for breaking an engagement. She must have agreed to marry the young man in good faith but must have realized that the marriage would not work. She took a decision on time to remedy the situation instead of regretting later on.

Hope all the people involved get arrested by the police and dealt with as per law.

So you mean to say if a woman is beating you , just take it down quietly. Is it what you practice. If so my friend you need to join some feminazi group since your messed up. Now saying this I'm not for domestic violence nor beating women without provocation. Funda is clear boss. You hit me, I will kick the daylights out of you. Give respect. Take respect. Don't get physical.

    Boss,
Did they inform police/government that they are gonna attack, how come the police will sense that they will attack.
police dept. will take action against the culprits, if action is not taken then you have right to finger point at police.
government cannot deploy police security each individual of the society, if you have any threat from your enemies then you can avail the security in advance.

    Mrs. Devi,

You said '"whatever the case may be, nobody has a right to attack women in any way" - partly agreed.

    First and foremost -

    (a) Why are you taking a soft stand towards the lady? Do you want to prove that she is cent per
    cent right?

    (b) Do you personally know her - or you are going out with a sympathetic compassion towards her?

    (c) The write-up states she is ALREADY ENGAGED so who will tolerate it when she back tracks
on her marital promises. Imagine this is happening now, Wonder after the marriage what will
be the course of marital relations.

(d Agreed that they should NOT have taken the law in their hands, but when such a situation
comes, I bet there will be a mad rush of blood which is but obviously the human tendency

By and large the case is an interesting one leading to predictable chain of events across our country (probably so there have been many such cases not reported)

At the end of the day, it is the lady who herself has to suffer for acting in a funny way - if she certainly deserves respect, so be it, albeit, it is difficult to to say if the woman is sane by nature.

We can only keep our fingers crossed and wait for the law to take its own course of action.

Are you out of your mind Joseph how is taking the law into your hands ever right. She may be wrong or might have done some mistake ( lets assume that) , how is taking the law into your hands right. There is a law, file a complaint and seek justice. Beating someone up.. Man or woman isnt right

You justify human tendency... but there is also human rational behavior... There are many engagements that break up.. who knows she might have broken up the engagement looking at thee back ground of the boy ( his friends and family are obviously aggressive)...

In either case nothing justifies violence... A wrong act cannot be made right by another wrong act

    @ Joseph

For point no-(a) Earlier whatever I have said I stand by it. In India "Nari Pujyanthe" women's are worshipped, whatever the case may be nobody has right to attack women in any way (Mentally or Physically) I am being the women I don't say women's are always right, but nobody has right to physically attack her.
If any wrong things committed by women then there is a way to deal with it.
For point no-(b) (Do you know her?) To write anything here or tell my opinion regarding some matters I don't have to know anybody. Do you know me now??
For point no-(c) Great lord whatever happened is before marriage, that's a great thing, just think like this will happen after marriage? what will be the fate of both the families? not only they both suffer, the whole families of both will suffer to the core.
For point no-(d) "If such situations come you bet there will be a mad rush of blood" Is this a way, we have to teach our younger Generations? if there is a mad rush of blood and within minutes you take anything serious act (decision) then they will be behind the ba, where Krishna had his birth. Then for a life-long, you curse for the decision you have taken within that one minute with a Mad rush of blood.
Who knows what situations made her take this drastic decision, luckily she came to know there is something fishy.
Finally, in India both man and women should be treated equally, women's are not less than a man in any field (That's what women proved ). they are equal in front of Law, society, profession, religion etc.

Whatever the case may be, nobody has a right to attack women in any way. the culprits should be punished. Before marriage itself the attitude of the man and his friends are very cruel, then if she gets married to a person then what will happen?
On what circumstances she has taken that decision the person should understand and give her all the way and respect to her decision.

And everybody has the right to attack a man? Some days back when a news article said a man was attacked at his second wedding people were saying well done. This attitude towards men is disgusting. Women are demanding equality.this is equality. Not suprisingly when a man is attacked when a woman the police will never book a case forget making arrests.

@Johan Sequiera Surathkal, with this attack it prooves the Lady has taken the right step of stepping back from her marraige promise. She has not married but was only enganged. That doesnt mean she should marry,it was not marraige vows.she must have had her own reasons not to marry. But it doesnt mean ,men should come in group and assault her. They have no right to assault her. She is not their own property.First they should ask her why she broke the Engagement.when men brake their promises, marry other one ,without divorsing ,then ?then there is a reason to ask him but not thrash.some thrash to teach him a lesson.Somehow it has become a Fashion in India to thrash women ,rape and assault with or without reason. They think women should Dance when men say or they will be punished.sick thoughts.
