Dubai, Mar 13: Celebrating its first anniversary, Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC), organized a blood donation drive at Union Metro Station, Deira on March 10 in association with Dubai Health Authority & Community Development Authority, Government of Dubai.
Chief guest Abdul Razak who served DEWA for more than 30 years and is currently a businessman, inaugurated the event by presenting gift hampers to early registered blood donors. On the occasion, Abdul Razak appreciated the event mentioning the importance of blood donation and how it helps in saving a life.
Mohammad Ismail, vice president of KSCC, addressed the gathering, highlighting and briefing about the event. He briefed on the club's vision to develop expatriates into a well-nourished section of society in sports, cultural and social activities. He also appreciated the Community Development Authority for their continuous support and cooperation as this is the second blood donation drive in the year as well as in their other activities such as free medical check-up camps, Labour Day, year of reading and many more. He also added that CDA and Dubai Government have appreciated KSCC with certificate of appreciation for their social services. He took this opportunity to enlighten the benefits and importance of donating blood.
Mohammad Shafi, manager of KSCC, Abdul Rashid, sponsor representative from Health First Pharmacy, Abdul Hameed, sponsor representative from Deco Space Interiors were present at the inaugural ceremony.
Around 100 people donated blood. KSCC felicitated donors with snacks, gift and appreciation. The event began at 8.00 am and ended as the capacity for the required units arranged by DHA were complete. People were happy and honoured as they took part in this noble cause.
The sponsors lauded the event and response from the public received on the day and assured support for future events. Riyaz, event director honoured the staff of DHA by presenting gifts on behalf of KSCC for their Kind support and cooperation.
In the concluding ceremony Mohammad Ismail thanked the sponsors Shaju Rama Krishnan from Health First Pharmacy and Guruprasad Kadri from UAE Exchange on behalf of KSCC for sponsoring the event.
Mohammad Faraz hosted the entire event and concluded by thanking Dubai Health Authority and Community Development Authority, Government of Dubai for their association to the event. He also thanked the sponsors Deco Space Interiors, Health First Pharmacy, UAE Exchange, Prime Medical Centre, blood donors, DHA staff, organisers and
volunteers in making the event successful.
