Ajman, Mar 10: The qualifier matches of Neymar Jr's Five football, were held on Thumbay Grounds at Gulf Medical University (GMU) campus, Al Jurf on Wednesday March 8.
Hosted by Body & Soul Health Club & Spa, the award winning network of health clubs operated by the hospitality division of Thumbay Group, the tournament attracted a number of visitors including students of GMU, Body & Soul members and football enthusiasts from across Ajman.
Neymar Jr's Five is a new concept of football founded by Brazil’s soccer captain Neymar. It is a five-a-side tournament for youth 16-25 years with two players who can be over 25 years of age. It is taking place in 54 countries and the winner from each country will win a paid trip to Brazil where they will play in front of Neymar.
Farhad C, director of Thumbay Group’s hospitality division said that Body & Soul was proud to host such an important tournament, popular with football fans worldwide. “We are happy that Thumbay Grounds and Body & Soul were chosen to partner this new and highly popular format of football. Considering it is fun, fast and of a technical nature, it was a new, but interesting challenge for us. We are glad the teams, the participants and the organizers liked our facilities,” he added.
A total of 15 qualifier rounds are happening across the 7 emirates of UAE. 32 teams are participating in the matches at GMU.
