Rio de Janeiro, Mar 10 (IANS): Former Brazil international striker Luis Fabiano has revealed he is close to making his debut for Brazilian Serie A football club Vasco da Gama.
The 36-year-old signed with the Rio de Janeiro outfit last month after parting ways with China's Tianjin Quanjian, reports Xinhua news agency.
Despite having not played for several months, the former Sevilla striker on Thursday said he is back to full fitness after three weeks of training with his new teammates.
He could return to action on Sunday in Vasco's Carioca championship match against Macae.
"If everything goes to plan, Sunday will be the big day," Fabiano said in a television interview with Fox Sports.
Fabiano played a key role in Tianjin Quanjian's promotion to the Chinese Super League last year, scoring 23 goals as the club secured the first division title.
