Doha, Mar 6: In the finals of the I division of the 28th CDC Cricket Tournament 2017, Asian Cricket Club (ACC) defeated Hanan XII by six wickets to lift the Champions trophy. This is the second time ACC has become champions since their start 12 years back.
ACC won the toss and put Hanan to bat. Opening batsmen of Hanan began very confidently and were 77 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the first 6 overs. After that Hanan could not maintain their momentum and were all out for 165 runs in 19.4 overs.
Neymath scored 27 runs off 24 deliveries with three sixes, Ansar too scored the same, Imran scored 24 runs with two sixes and a boundary and Zameer's 22 runs also contributed to the total.
Naveed, Tousif and Appu of ACC took two wickets each while Tabish, Bilal, Saghir and Sarfaraz took a wicket each.
In reply ACC began their innings with vigor and self poise and totalled 44 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in the first six overs. Sarfaraz was the star batsman who contributed 35 runs with three sixes and two boundaries while Tabish assisted with 22 runs with a six and a boundary. ACC comfortably chased the total in 17.2 overs with a loss of five wickets.
Rislath of Hanan took two wickets and Ansar took a wicket.

At the prize distribution ceremony the chief guest was Sanjiv Jain, business development manager of construction development co (CDC).
The prize distribution ceremony was attended by supporters and well wishers. Over 300 prizes were given away to various players in the tournament. The ceremony ended with complimentary refreshments and a lucky draw for spectators.
