Bengaluru, Feb 28: Kumar Bangarappa, son of former Karnataka chief minister, S Bangarpapa, who had a brief stint with the BJP along with his father in the past, is sure to hop into the saffron party bandwagon again. It is only a matter of time before he crosses over from the Congress.

Kumar Bangarappa who visited the residence of state BJP president, B S Yeddyurappa, to wish him on his 74th birthday, said that he will soon officially announce his decision to join the saffron brigade. "I have come with my supporters and friends to wish Yeddyurappa on his birthday. I have promised him to be by his side soon with my supporters. I will keep this promise," he stated. When the media persons questioned him about the timing of joining BJP, he said he will convene press conference soon to make an announcement on this subject.

It may be recalled that when Bangarappa crossed over to BJP last time after deserting Congress, Kumar Bangarappa had followed his father. However, within a short while he had gone back to the Congress, claiming that the environment in BJP was suffocating.

In the meanwhile, former MLA and JDS leader from Uttara Kannada district, Dinakar Shetty, and Congress leader from Yallapura, Pramod Hegde, would be joining BJP on Tuesday February 28 at a function being held at the BJP office at Malleswaram. Some more Congress and JDS leaders from Uttara Kannada district are set to join BJP shortly. With this, BJP hopes to win back the ground it had lost in this district during the previous assembly election.
