Udupi, Feb 17: Junior Chamber International (JCI) zonal president, Santosh G, said that at the national integration oath administration programme held on February 2 this year by zone 15 of JCI India, 1,32,898 students had taken oath. He said that this happens to be an an all time record.
Addressing a press conference held on Thursday February 16 at Press Club Kaup, Santosh said that the programme of administering this oath, conducted in 315 schools and colleges spread across Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts through various JCI units along with training, was unique.
"JCI, which happens to be the biggest personality development organization in the world, has created a niche for itself through its training programmes and parliamentary decorum. It has been conducting the programme of administering oath of national integration under the motto, 'We all are one', on February 2 every year. This programme aims at inculcating a sense of patriotism among the children and groom them into good citizens of the country," he stated, duly thanking the heads and staff of these schools and colleges for allowing this programme to be conducted by extending wholehearted cooperation. At the same time, he congratulated presidents of various JCI units for visiting different educational institutions the same day for administering this oath.
Santosh stated that a one-day multi-faceted personality development training workshop is being held at Udupi on February 26, which will be hosted by JCI Udupi Silverstar, and at Bantwal, which will be hosted by JCI Bantwal. He said in addition to JCI members, even members of the public have an opportunity to join these workshops.
Director of programmes department of the zone, Anil Kumar, director of national programmes, Rakesh Kunjur, and media coverage coordinator, Raghavendra Prabhu Karvalu were present at the press conference.
