Mumbai, Feb 13: Kannada Sangha, Santacruz celebrated their 59th anniversary at Guru Narayana auditorium, Billavara Bhavan, Santacruz east on Saturday evening, February 11.
Bunts Sangha Mumbai president Prabhakara L Shetty and one of the leading catering businessmen Raghu P Shetty were present as chief guest and guest of honor respectively. Bharath Bank director Damodar C Kunder was present. President of the Sangha, L V Ameen who chaired the celebration, lit the lamp and inaugurated the programme.
Guests and donors Sadananda Uchil and working committee members Shivarama Kotian, Prasanna Shetty, Lingappa Ameen, R P Hegde, CA Prakash Shetty, Dinesh B Ameen, Suma M Poojary, Usha V Shetty together handed over scholarships and wished the best for beneficiary students.
Vice president of the Sangha, Nithyananda D Kotian, honorary treasurer CA Ramesh A Shetty, joint treasurer R P Hegde, joint secretary Chandrahas J Kotian, advisory committee members Narayana Shetty, B D Suvarna were present on the dais.
Social and cultural committee executive president Sharada S Poojary welcomed everyone. Women's wing members sang a prayer. Women's wing Vanitha Y Nonda, Shalini G Shetty and Shakila P Shetty introduced the guests. L V Ameen draped shawls on the guests, presented flower bouquets and felicitated them. Honorary chief secretary Sujatha R Shetty read the annual report. Education committee secretary Sudhakar Uchil read the list of scholarship beneficiaries.
Children of the members presented comedy and dances. 'Yamuna Daane Namune' tulu comedy drama written by Dinesh Kankanady and directed by Bhasker Sasihitlu was performed by Saptaswara Cultural Association, Mumbai artistes. Mahohar Nandalike and cultural committee secretary Laxmi N Kotian compered cultural programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
