Udupi, Feb 7: Communist Party of India (CPI) never works for pension. We fight only to obtain justice for the poor and the weak, said Indian Communist party state secretary and Central committee member J V Shree Ram.
Addressing a gathering in Udupi on February 6, he said that RSS and Sangh Parivar had a major role in destroying the unity of people in India. “Our 5000-year-old history is going to be destroyed because of RSS and Sangh Pariwar.”
“RSS and Sangh Pariwar are trying to build and develop one particular community, language and place. They wanted to break Indian unity after the birth of RSS in 1925. RSS gained political strength after the destruction of Babri Masjid. We are facing major communal clashes after RSS got political power. Separating Sangh Pariwar from politics is the best solution to overcome such communal fire, which destroys the integrity of our country,” he said.
“The political party which distances itself from caste, religion and languages, can be considered as secular. Indian Communist party has always been the voice of the voiceless. We have fought for Dalits, Muslims and the weaker section of the society,” he said.
“Coastal districts have become laboratories for experimenting communal issues. Issues crop up almost every day in Dakshina Kannada. Congress government has completely failed to control them. I wonder if the state government exists,” he said.
“Cow sacrifice ritual for Yaga Yajna existed in ancient days. The upper caste people those days commented that calf’s meat is smooth to eat. The very same people are doing drama now and preventing others from eating their food,” he said.
“Sangh Pariwar never followed Indian constitution. They always tried to break it instead and make their own policies in the society. In Adi Udupi murder and masjid case, accused Ankith Poojary was from Sangh Pariwar. Many communal cases were already booked against him. It is an example of provoking common people towards communal issues,” he added.
Udupi district CIP(M) president P Vishwanath Rai, novelist J Rajshekar and CPI(M) state secretary K Shanker were present.
