Udupi, Feb 5: ‘Amritha Vaibhava’ , the Shri Mata Amritanandamayi Seva Committee office was inaugurated by district-in-charge Pramod Madhwaraj on Sunday, February 5. The office is located near Sharada Kalyana Mantapa, Kunjibettu.
Addressing the gathering minister Madhwaraj said, “Mata Amritanandamayi, known to many as ‘Amma' will be visiting the city on February 25. Udupi must feel proud in organizing such a historical occasion. People must participate in all rituals without any hesitation as an offering of service. We are expecting about 50,000 to 60,000 devotees and delegates from the twin districts. There should not be any shortage in 'Anna Prasadam' on the night of February 25 and in the breakfast, the next morning."
"We hope to have with us, the Governor of Karnataka Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala. All arrangements have been made for inviting other ministers too on priority. This would be a historical day for Udupi," he said, extending his support for the programme.
Brahmacharini Mangalambike Chaitanya Sri Amritanandamayi, Mangaluru Math graced the occasion and said, "Mata Amritanandamayi's incarnation took place on earth to serve the society. She has become close to everyone because of her simplicity. Devotees should make use of this privilege and should share the good news with others."
The executive president of the committee Raghupati Bhat put forth a demand on behalf fishermen. "Amma must perform Samudra pooja at Malpe sea shore during her visit," he urged.
Bhat also said, "A 5-acre land has been marked out for Mata Amritanandamayi at Karvalo. We plan on having a charitable trust in her name. Many members have promised to collectively work towards raising funds for the success of this effort."
“Tokens will be provided by the committee for Matha’s Darshan. Token is mandatory for infants too. All requirements will be provided at the venue, along with a bus facility. On February 25, a Bhajana session will be held along with a spiritual discourse by Amma. Following that, Amma will give individual solace to all devotees who have the tokens." he explained.
Venkatesh Shet, donor of the venue, was recognized on this occasion. Shridhar Mulky and Kota Anand C Kundar were present at the programme.
