Mangaluru Feb 5: United Friends Bejai in association with Daijiworld 24x7 inaugurated ‘Hasyancho Paavs- Season 3’, a popular Konkani comedy contest at Milagres P U College Auditorium here on Sunday, February 5.
Speaking on the occasion, Editor-in-chief of Daijiworld.com, Walter Nandalike, said, “Along with United friends, we are happy to inaugurate this contest this year. 18 teams participated in the Season 2 contest. This year also we have best teams participating in this contest. We like to congratulate Valentine D Souza who has been chosen for the prestigious police medal award. We are proud of him. We would also like to thank all the dignitaries for sparing their valuable time and attending the inaugural ceremony.”
Speaking on the occasion, president of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy Roy Castelino said, “I was eagerly waiting for this contest for a long time. United Friends was known for rendering their service towards social work and now they are serving the Konkani culture. I am grateful to Walter Nandalike, Daijiworld Media and United Friends for promoting Konkani culture. May this contest be successful and let us all join in serving the Konkani Matha.”
Fr Victor Vijay Lobo director of Sandesha conducted prayer session and sought God’s blessing.
JD(S) Youth leader Ashwin Pereira said, “Laugher is an expression and the one who makes others laugh is truly talented. We all need to have a true expression of laugher. May this contest bring joy and happiness in all and may it flourish worldwide.”
Thamaso Kateel, Kinni Kushali Kelarai, Kalpreeth Paldane, Mugrodi friends Mugrodi, Kateel Kuvar, The Expression, Comedy Factory, Kollagan, Comedy Cousins, Dosti Kalakar and Makkar Permannur will be battling out for the title.
Managing director of Rohan Corporation Rohan Monteiro, President of Mandd Sobhann Louis Pinto, MCC Bank Chairman Francis Cutinho, Director of Daijiworld Media Melvyn Rodrigues, Assistant commissioner of police Valentine D Souza, Leslie Rego and Nelson Pereira were present.
