Bhatkal: Terror suspect's hopes of having last glimpse of father dashed

Daijiworld Media Network - Bhatkal (SP)

Bhatkal, Feb 4: Terror suspect, Riaz Ahmed from here, who has been named as main accused in Bengaluru church blasts case, could not have the last glimpse of his father, who died recently. His hopes of seeing his mother and talking to her also were dashed.

Riaz, who was arrested by the Bengaluru city crime branch policemen last year, continues to be in custody as he has been booked under anti terrorism law. His father breathed his last on January 31. After he came to know about the demise of his father, Riaz had sought permission from the court to take part in the final rites of his father. The court gave him six hours time for this purpose.

When Riaz was brought home by his police escort at around 12 midnight on Thursday February 2, he found that his father was laid to rest on January 31 itself. He then expressed his desire to meet his mother. But he could not meet her, as she was sleeping. His family members refused entry to him inside the house, holding him squarely responsible for the death of his father, and chiding him for his evil acts.

Riaz was led back to Bengaluru early morning on Friday. He said he will file objections in the court for bringing him here at night.

In case Riyaz has done any thing wrong, he should be punished by law accordingly. Howver, in case he is innocent and court declare his innocency after many years, who will be responsible for the years he lost. Will indian law bring back the time he lost. There are many cases where innocent muslims are jailed for no reason and they are freed by court after 10, 15, 20 years whereas real terrorists like Sadhwi are let free. Why is this double face.

Some bring good names to their birthplace by doing good, we proudly say he/she from my city, then there are some like Riyaz and Yasin who bought shame to their birthplace as well as their community.
