Udupi, Feb 4: Former president of Dakshina Kannada Cooperative Milk Producers Union, Kaup Diwakar Shetty, has been appointed by the Karnataka government as the chairman of Kaup Urban Development Authority. Shetty's happens to be one among the 17 new appointments made to urban bodies by the state government.
Shetty will be the first ever chairman of the said authority that has newly come into existence. Besides working as president of Uliyargoly gram panchayat for two terms (eight years), Shetty had functioned as the president of KMF Dakshina Kannada unit for six years. He had also worked for five years as director of Karnataka Milk Federation.
Currenly, Kaup Diwakar Shetty is functioning as president of Kaup Cooperative Agricultural Bank.
