Mumbai, Feb 13: “Students should learn to be well-cultured. They should always have sense of duty and religious virtues. Discipline decides the future of students who would contribute towards nation-building,” said Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, former President of India.
He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of centenary celebration of Franciscan Brothers' Group of Institutions, located at Poisor, Immaculate Conception colony, Borivali (West).
Meanwhile, Kalam inaugurated ‘Synergy – 2008’, an exhibition which was organized as part of centenary celebrations, at St Francis De Assisi football grounds, on Wednesday February 13.
Fr Albert D’Souza, director of Franciscan Brothers' Group of Institutions, Br Hubert, Br George Thattil, Br Andrev Pereira, Br Anand K, Br Vijay Kumar, Br N Yesudas, Br S Pais and Lt Col Unnikrishnan, were present on the dais.
Grace Pinto, managing director of Ryan International Group of Schools, Francis Rasquinha, managing director of Francis Shipping, John D’Silva, president of Fuddar Foundation, Rony H Mendonca, former police commissioner, Joseph Menezes, entrepreneur and others were the guests, present on the occasion.
Br Joseph Karimalaya, chief of Franciscan Institutions welcomed and delivered introductory address.
Br Vijay Kumar proposed vote of thanks. Various cultural events were held by the students as part of the centenary celebrations.
