Mangalore, Jan 28: Therese Pereira, assistant professor of commerce at Government First Grade College, Car Street, was awarded a PhD degree by Karnataka University, Dharwad for her doctoral thesis entitled 'Problems and Prospects of Microfinance in Hinterland – a study with special reference to Dakshina Kannada district, Karnataka state'.
She had prepared and submitted the thesis under the guidance of professor S S Hugar, chairman, department of PG studies in commerce, Karnataka University, Dharwad.
Naveen Gatti Konaje, associate professor of history at the same college was awarded PhD degree by Kannada University, Hampi for his doctoral thesis entitled 'Colonial Eule: the dimensions of inheritance in Tulunadu'.
He had prepared and submitted the thesis under the guidance of Dr Denis Fernandes, Karnataka Theological Research Centre, Balmatta, here.
