Mangaluru: Coastal Karnataka experiences sporadic winter drizzle

Mangaluru, Jan 27: Even as the state capital, Bengaluru, continues to experience intermittent winter drizzle, coastal Karnataka got light drizzle at several places on Thursday January 26. The entire skyline over Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada and Udupi district was dotted with clouds since Thursday morning.

Light drizzle to normal rainfall was experienced at several places including Beltangady, Puttur, Sullia, Karkala, Manipal and the city between Thursday afternoon and night.

Meteorological department noted that this is a natural phenomenon occurring during the fag end of winter season. It expects the temperature to go up a bit because of this development. The meteorological department expects these conditions to continue for two more days.

The coastal monitoring unit of National Disaster Management Centre at Panambur here has recorded minimum of 22 degree and maximum of 35 degree celsius in the city. These figures are likely to go upto 21.5 degree and 36.5 degree celsius by the end of this month.
