Mumbai, Feb 12: “Juhu Andheri Versova Ville Parle Association of Bunts (JAVAB) is like a large family. It was established with the objective of nurturing friendly relations among all members of extended family. JAVAB has contributed its yeomen service to Tulu Nadu culture among the neo-generation of native Bunts settled in metro,” said N C Shetty, president of JAVAB.
He was speaking at the annual friendly meet held recently at Lokandwala Complex Residents’ Association grounds, Andheri (West).
“Mothers play key role in the society. It is Bunts’ mothers' topmost duty to teach the significance of Tulu Nadu culture to the new generation of Bunts community. They should to strive to preserve the culture which is facing the threat of going into oblivion in the modern era,” he appealed to community women.
N C Shetty and office-bearers of JAVAB, inaugurated the friendly meet by lighting the lamp.
Kruti I R Shetty, the first Bunts’ woman pilot and member of JAVAB was felicitated on the same occasion.
D M Shetty, founder president, Ramesh U Shetty, ex-president, J V Shetty, joint secretary, Jayaprakash Shetty, treasurer, Gunakar Shetty, joint treasurer and other office-bearers were present at the dais.
C V Shetty and Ramesh Shetty compered the programme. Nagesh Shetty, vice president proposed vote of thanks.
Various entertainment events were held as part of the annual celebrations.
