Bengaluru, Jan 24: “K S Eshwarappa is definitely stronger than B S Yeddyurappa in BJP,” said JD(S) state president and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy here on Monday, January 23.
Kumaraswamy was speaking to media after JD(S) core committee meeting.
“After observing the recent development s in BJP, especially during executive meeting that took place in Kalburgi last week, we are sure that who is powerful among these two. Yet, JD(S) is not concerned about these developments,” Kumaraswamy added.
“No discussion took place in JD(S) in any level regarding Eshwarappa joining our party. I do not have any doubt regarding the loyalty of Eshwarappa to his party. It is natural for him to show anger and displeasure as people who worked against him have been rewarded with district president posts,” Kumaraswamy opined.
“Yeddyurappa now talks about loyalty to party, sacrifice and stuff like that. He accuses Eshwarappa as indulging in anti-party activities. Yeddyurappa came to our house with Shobha Karandlaje and Ramachandra Gowda to join our party in 2005. He fought the last Assembly elections under KJP and proclaimed that his aim was to destroy BJP. Where was this loyalty then?” he questioned.
“Yeddyurappa had told me then that he had taken a loan from Ananth Kumar and if I could arrange that money, he would repay him and join our party. But I did not take advantage of that situation. I told him to remain in BJP instead.” Kumaraswamy said.
