Bengaluru, Jan 19: Police personnel of Banaswadi station here have arrested a techie from city and a foreign national in connection with an incident in which a techie sexually assaulted his female friend who was drunk, at a weekend party in a pub. The names of the arrested men have been given as Ricky Uthappa from Kodagu, who is employed as techie in a multinational company here, and a computer science student and Yemen national, Ayub.
The girl in question had visited Fusion Lounge Pub within Cubbon Park police station limits at around midnight on January 13 when her own friends allegedly sexually assaulted her. "I was heavily drunk then and therefore, do not recollect what happened. I have sustained injuries on parts of my body. I request you to investigate the incident," the girl said in a complaint she filed in J P Nagar police station.
On the basis of CCTV footage, the police arrested Ricky and his friend Ayub, who had danced with the complainant.

It is learnt that the girl called Ricky Uthappa seeking to have a party that night. Ricky asked her to reach Fusion Lounge by 9.30 pm. Before going there, the girl had consumed whiskey at home. When she did not come to the pub as promised at 9.30 pm, Ricky called her and found that she was still at home. Even when an Ola cab driver came near her house and rang the bell, she had not responded. Later, at around 10 pm, she boarded an auto in a hurry and reached the venue. Ricky, his friend, Ayub, and the girl sat together at a table and partied together.
It is said that the girl started shouting at everyone after consuming tequila at the pub. She also attacked security personnel when they tried to intervene. When it was found impossible to control her, her friends took her out. Ricky took her in his car and drove around till 3 am before dropping her off at the house of her friend, Lucy, at Kammanahalli. The accused told the police that they had to beg Lucy to allow the girl to stay there overnight.
The lady regained consciousness at around 3 pm on Sunday after which she went to her home and slept. At night, she got up, had whiskey again, and slept. When she got up on January 15, she noticed injury marks on her leg and thigh regions and thereafter filed police complaint, it is gathered.
Additional commissioner of police, Hemant Nimbalkar, said that the victim has stated that she does not know what had happened as she was in drunken stupor. At the same, the arrested accused have confessed that they had picked her from Fusion Lounge and dropped off at Kammanahalli. Investigation is continuing.
