Bengaluru, Jan 17: Food and civil supplies minister U T Khader has been appointed district in-charge minister of Chamarajanagar.
The order was issued by chief minister Siddaramaiah here on Tuesday January 17.
Khader had previously been the district in-charge minister of Kolar.
The post of district in-charge minister of Chamarajanagar was lying vacant since the sudden demise of Mahadeva Prasad, who was also the minister of cooperation and sugar in the Siddaramaiah cabinet.
Prasad passed away on January 3 due to cardiac arrest in Chikkamagaluru. While the cooperation and sugar portfolio was retained by the CM himself, the post of district in-charge of Chamarajanagar was lying vacant until now.
In a Facebook post, Khader announced his new appointment and thanked CM Siddaramaiah for choosing him.
