Mangaluru: Brain fever claims life of student from Kadaba

Mangaluru, Jan 16: Muhammed Tausif (16), son of Hamza K, resident of Karmayi in Nekkilady village of Puttur taluk, succumbed to brain fever at a private hospital here on Sunday January 15. He was a first PU student of St Joachim's PU College at Kadaba.

The boy had been referred to a private nursing home at Kadaba with complaint of fever and headache. The doctor there had suspected brain fever and advised him to get admitted into a hospital here. He was being treated here since the last ten days, but failed to respond to efforts made to save him, it is gathered. Tausif has left behind parents, a brother and a sister.

It is learnt that the family of Tausif is financially very weak. Therefore, students of his PU college had pooled together money to help him meet treatment expenses. Some youth from Mardhala too had moved around Kadaba and Mardhala towns and collected money to help towards the student's treatment.
