Addressing mediapersons at Ocean Pearl Dr Bhat said, “Vivekananda Jayanthi will be observed on January 12. Radio Centre Panchajanya 90.8 FM will be inaugurated by Union Minister for Commerce, Industry and Finance Nirmala Seetharaman on the same day. “The newly constructed Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology building and Training Center will be inaugurated by Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneur Rajiv Prathap Rudy on January 13”.

“Several students find it difficult to find jobs even after completing their post-graduation nowadays. With the motive of providing employment opportunities to students, Vivekananda Vidhyavardhaka Sangha is all set to organise Viveka Job Fair on January 13 at Vivekananda College Campus. So far over 10,000 students have registered themselves for the job fair and more are expected to join. Over 150 companies have agreed to be a part of the job fair, which include Wipro, Infosys, Volvo, Flip Kart and many more”.

Commenting on the statement made by BJP state Chief BS Yeddyurappa that he would convince people of Dakshina Kannada to implement Yettinahole project, Dr Bhat said, Dakshina Kannada is facing acute shortage of water due to deficit rainfall and the leaders have to convince the people that this project would not pose problems of water shortage to the district.

“People of the district are not against lending water to people, but this project might dry up river Nethravathi. It is impossible for Yeddyurappa to convince people in the district in this matter”.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said, “Before implementing the project it is necessary to see that 24 tmc ft water is available at Yettinahole. The party has also demanded to form a team to study the consequences of the project. The government should not execute project work till the team submits a detailed report”.

Rajesh Naik, Murlikrishna KN and others were present.
