Mangaluru, Jan 3: A Management Film Festival held on January 2 and 3, was a great way for MSNM Besant Institute of PG Studies, Bondel to kick-start the new year. It was an innovative and interesting method of learning for the management students. The movies that were screened in the span of two days, aided the management graduates to understand the need for teamwork, the different skill sets a manager needs to possess, handling stress associated with corporate life, work life balance and many more valuable lessons, essential for students to shape a successful career.
The Management Film Festival was inaugurated by Manohar Prasad, chief of News Bureau, Udayavani. He spoke about the evolution of motion pictures and highlighted the importance of movies as learning tools in the present scenario. The function was presided over by Shyamsundar Kamath, secretary, Women’s National Education Society, Mangaluru. Dr Narayan Kayarkatte, director, MSNM Besant Instutute Of PG Studies welcomed the gathering, professor Sachin R Chandra, staff co-ordinator briefed about the objective behind organizing the management film festival for the management graduates in the institution. Prajwal, the student co-ordinator proposed the vote of thanks at the inaugural function.
As part of the management film festival, six movies were screened in two different screens on January 2 and 3. The movies were cautiously selected keeping in mind the objective behind hosting this event. Movies of various languages were showcased. Screening of the movies was followed by discussions undertaken by the panel members consisting of students and faculty members.
Curtains were drawn on the event on the second day with a valedictory ceremony. The chief guest for the function was B A Khader Shah, district information officer, Dakshina Kannada. The chief guest appreciated the initiative of hosting the management film festival which was one of its kind. Daniel Saldanha, student co-ordinator, presented a summary of the events that took place over the course of two days. Krishnananda Pai, student representative rendered the vote of thanks.
All in all it was a wonderful experience and a distinct learning process for the MBA graduates.
