Mangaluru, Dec 30: The robbers who had waylaid a car and forcibly taken away valuables from its occupants stand arrested by the Mulky police. In an incident which happened a few days back, a gang of eight had robbed Chidananda Urvastore and others.
The arrested accused are Shivaprasad alias Ayyappa (25), Sudheer (22), and Sandeep (23), who belong to Kilenjur near Kinnigoli, Gopal Gowda (34) from Golipalke in Kattalsar, Suvin Kanchan (20) who lives in Padubidri, Varun Kumar (25) from Tenka Yermal, and Sujit Shetty (28), resident of Kodethur in Mennabettu village, Kinnigoli. Weapons used by them to threaten the victims have also been seized.
On being produced in the court, all of them were remanded to judicial custody on Thursday December 29.
Chidanand Urvastore from Mangaluru was coming in a car on December 23 when he was intercepted by eight robbers who threatened him with lethal weapons and forcibly snatched about two lac rupees in his possession, after which Chidanand had filed complaint in Mulky police station. The incident had happened at Balavinagudde near Kinnigoli.
