Doha, Dec 29: Metabo, sponsors of the 22nd Gulf Incon-Metabo cricket tournament 2016 were the new champions on defeating Force India team by 7 wickets on West Bay grounds.
On winning the toss, Metabo asked Force India to bat first. Force India lost their top three batsmen Masi, Iftikhar and Dhanuska within the first four overs. Iqbal knocked out Masi for 3 runs, Ashif bowled out Dhansuska for 3 runs and Suhail sent away Iftiqar for 6 runs. Force India then lost control and was unable to put up a good score on the board after these initial blows. Charlie 14, Bari 15, Akalanka 10 and Yasir 36 were the only batsmen who achieved the double figure scores. Force India was finally out at 111 in 18.1 overs.
Three wickets for 10 runs from team Metabo were knocked out by Shariq. Monty, Hanif, Baba took a wicket each.
In reply, Metabo too had a shaky start by loosing their top three batsmen for 10 runs. Yasir got rid of Asif for 2 runs, Siyab eliminated Baba for 5 runs and Ranga bowled Iqbal for 1 run. But Metabo, known for their strong batting line up, completed the chase of 111 runs within 13.4 overs. Shariq's 19 runs, Rafaqat's 15 runs, Hanif's 21 runs, Monty's 14 runs and Zulfiqar's 20 runs contributed to this comfortable chase.
For his all-round performance, Shariq from Metabo was declared Man of the Finals.

Force India scored 111 runs and were all out in 18.1 overs. Individual scores were: Yasir 36, Charles 14, Bari 15, Akalanka 10, Shariq 3 for 10, Monty 1 for 17, Hanif 1 for 9, Baba 1 for 17. The team lost to Metabo.
Metabo scored 114 for 4 in 13.4 overs. Individual scores being: Zulfiqar 20, Shariq 19, Hanif 21, Yasir 1 for 13.

At the prize distribution ceremony, Sajjad Ahmed Khan- senior sales and marketing manager- Metabo / Gulf Incon was present along with Ravi Chandran- Senior stores supervisor, guest of honor Adil from Houston USA and Qatar Veterans cricket officials handed over the winners' and runners' trophies. Lots of gifts were distributed to the Lucky Dip winners.
The organizers arranged free snacks and Filli Café served tasty Saffron Tea to the all spectators on the ground.
