Mangaluru, Dec 24: Relating to the theft from an office at Hoige Bazar here on December 18, Pandeshwar police have succeeded in taking two more accused into custody on Friday December 23. The persons now arrested are Muhammed Naufal (21), resident of Azizuddin Road at Bunder here, and Nauman (23), living at Casba Bengre. Another accused, Naushad, had been arrested on Thursday. With this, a total of three persons have been arrested relating to this case. A number of stolen items were recovered from them.
Both the persons were taken into custody from near the tempo stand near the private bus stand in the city. They were produced at the court, after which they were remanded to judicial custody. Naushad had been remanded to judicial custody on Thursday.
The policemen said that the two accused have confessed to have stolen a motor bike that had been parked at A B Shetty Circle here, on November 5 this year. Naufal faces six cases of motor bike thefts registered at Pandeshwar station and three more at Kadri station.
The operation was conducted by Pandeshwar station police inspector, K U belliappa, under the guidance of city police commissioner, Chandra Sekhar, deputy commissioners of police, K M Shantarju and Dr Sanjeev Patil as well as assistant commissioner of police, Shruti, with assistance from Pandeshwar station criminal intelligence department sub-inspector, Anant Murudeshwar and other staff.
