Panaji: Tradition Comes Alive at Republic Day Celebrations

Panaji, Jan 26: Governor S C Jamir hoisted the Indian tricolor on the morning of Saturday January 26 to celebrate the country's 59th Republic Day at Parade grounds, Campal here on Saturday January 26.

A colourful parade included march past by the Goa Armed Police jawans and students.






Jamir honoured senior police officers on the occasion. School students performed drill sessions that added charm to the celebrations.

Tricolor hydrogen balloons adorned the skies while special children also displayed their unique talents.









Chief minister Digambar Kamat and his wife Asha Kamat, speaker Pratapsingh Rane and wife Vijayadevi Rane, opposition leader Manohar Parrikar, Pandurang Madkaikar and others were present.
