This magnificent hall is situated on the National Highway of the Mangaluru – Moodbidri Road. It is located eight kilometres away from the city. The Church was founded by Msgr Edwin Pinto in 1981 with 80 Catholic families. He served the parish with devotion and dedication. At present there are 875 families with 3000 members surrounded by two convents namely Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany, Mangaluru and Queen of the Apostles (SRA).
Having been ordained in this parish, Fr Cyprian Pinto, the current parish priest, got a rare chance to be its shepherd. He is a well known ‘builder’ and ‘spiritual Father’ who has taken keen interest in developing the parish spiritually and materially. One of his outstanding developments is the construction of ‘Sabhabhavana’ which no one else initiated, considering the difficulty involved and it being a huge venture.
Specialties of this magnificent edifice are:
1. Peaceful atmosphere
2. Sufficient vehicle parking facility
3. Three open grounds with facility to accommodate 4000-5000 people
4. Good public transport facility
5. Manasa Amusement and Water Park for entertainment
To make this mighty dream a reality, the parishioner's goodwill, Well wishers and donors contributed a lion’s share to its success.
The dynamic pastor single-handedly succeeded in collecting sufficient financial support by visiting foreign countries and also tapped into the local resources, government aid etc. He travelled far and wide to raise the necessary funds.
Along with Fr Cyrpiran Pinto, the hard labour of the vice president Roshan M Kamath, secretary Joachim D'Souza, assistant parish priest, Fr Clifford, pastoral parishad members, committee members - Jerald Monteiro, Junifer Alvares, Stephan Pinto, engineer Lawarence Cutinha and contractor Richard Rodrigues are appreciated.
