Mumbai, Dec 14: Kannada Premi Mandali of Khalsa College, Matunga held their annual friendly get together of their old students at Mysore Association auditorium on Sunday evening, December 11. Dr Sunitha M Shetty presided over the get together.
“My grandfather had taught Dr Ambedkar Sanskrit. Dr Ambedkar who laid the foundation for Khalsa college, appointed my grandfather as the lecturer. He also gave the name Kannada Premi Mandali,” said guest Dr B R Manjunath.
Santhosh Shetty and Radhakrishna Rai were present on the dais. Old students Vikranth Urwal, Ashok Shetty, Nagesh Kunder, Satya Shetty, Archana Hegde, N M Ramesh, K S G Shetty, Santhosh Shetty, Rajiv Shetty and several other members were present. Sunitha Shetty honored them by handing over flower bouquets. Several students recollected the days of student life in the college.
Ravindra Suvarna, Shanti Ronald Olivera, Thithi P Sripad, Thithiksha P Sripad, Sujatha Rao, Saideep Kunder provided musical entertainment. Thithi Sripad and Thithiksha sang a prayer song. Chief organizer N M Ramesh provided details of the previous meeting and Vasanth Rai gave details of accounts. Retired assistant librarian Harish G Poojary gave the keynote address, compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
