Panaji, Dec 12: Ending the bitter war of words, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar dropped two of his cabinet colleagues Sudin Dhavalikar and Dipak Dhavalikar, both from Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), following their outburst against the State government.

Parsekar faxed the communication to Goa Governor Mridula Sinha late night on Monday recommended dropping of both the ministers from the State cabinet. With this, the total number of ministers in Parsekar led cabinet is reduced to ten.

"I have recommended that both the ministers be dropped under article 164 (1) of Constitution of India," the chief minister said.

He said all the portfolios which were allotted to both the ministers are reverted to him, till they are allotted to anyone else.

Responding to a question, Parsekar said that he is yet to decide on filling both the vacancies.

Parsekar’s decision comes in the wake of recent outburst by both the ministers against the State government. Sudin Dhavalikar who was holding important portfolios like Transport and Public Works Department had accused Parsekar of taking back the state by ten years during his tenure of two-and-a-half years.

Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) which is represented by both the ministers had decided that it would not have a pre-poll alliance with BJP if Parsekar continues to lead the party.

MGP had fought 2012 State legislative assembly election in alliance with BJP. While BJP had won on 21 seats, MGP was victorious on three.

When contacted, Dipak Dhavalikar said that he was yet to receive any communication about his removal from the cabinet. "I cannot comment anything as we are yet to receive any communication," he said.
