Mangaluru: St Agnes PU College celebrates Annual Day

Mangaluru, Dec 1: St Agnes PU College celebrated their Annual Day on November 25 on the degree college grounds. The chief guest Dr Karen Boaz, professor and head, departmrn of oral pathology, Manipal College of Dental Sciences was welcomed with a ceremonial guard of honour. The principal Sr M Shamita AC, welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest. The chief guest Dr Karen Boaz, the joint secretary and Dr Sr Maria Roopa AC and Sam Mathew, vice president of the PTA presided over the prize distribution ceremony and felicitated the students who had excelled in academics and sports.

The chief guest Dr Karen Boaz addressed the parents and students and spoke on how privileged she felt to be here at her alma mater and how as an Agnesian, students are nurtured to be the pearls of the highest quality and how they will be the ambassadors of their alma mater whose moral inheritance they will reflect. She also spoke about the unique challenges faced by contemporary parents. Suvasini, lecturer in biology proposed the vote of thanks; while Juliana, lecturer in chemistry hosted the formal function.

The cultural part of the programme was a heady combination of dance, music and drama along with a screening of the annual report 2016-17 documenting the activities and success stories of the year. The event was compered by the student president Nerissa Noronha and the vice president Riya Benny. The vibrant and enthusiastic crowd of parents, students and well wishers were a testimony to its success.
