Face penalty if you spit in Panaji market

Panaji, Nov 29 (TOI): In a bid to curb spitting and smoking in the municipal market premises, the corporation of the city of Panaji (CCP) has appointed four ex-servicemen to penalize offenders.

CCP will also penalize those who write or stick posters on the walls of the market complex.
“Four ex-servicemen from the Rajya Sainik Board have been appointed to watch and prevent people from dirtying the market,” mayor Surendra Furtado said.

The market has also been put under closed circuit television surveillance to deter offenders further.
CCP has put up several posters at the market to caution locals and vendors.
