Cansaulim, Nov 28 (TOI): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has challenged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to bring all political parties within the ambit of the Right to Information (RTI) Act.

Spokesperson for AAP's Goa unit, Olencio Simoes ,said that if the BJP is serious about getting rid of black money in Goa, they should make public their sources of funding.

AAP is not afraid to declare their sources of funding which consist of contributions made by the common man, but the BJP should explain how it is funding its Vijay Sankalp rallies and meetings, he said. Simoes alleged that the ruling party is promoting black money in the guise of demonetization, stating that people attending the rallies and meetings are being paid in the demonitized currency.

The BJP is promoting black money for their electoral gains while the common man has to face hardships such as being forced to stand in long queues for their own hard-earned money, Simoes alleged in a press note.

Cortalim villagers, especially beneficiaries of various government schemes have been threatened with withdrawal of benefits if they fail to support the BJP, Simoes alleged adding that BJP, having lost people's trust, are now resorting to such tactics.
