Ajman, Nov 27: In a bid to provide Ghanian medical students with state-of-art teaching facilities in the Middle East, the Ghana Medical and Dental Council on November 21 accorded an official recognition to the Gulf Medical University (GMU).
A high-profile team of delegates from Ghana Medical and Dental Council visited the Ajman campus as a part of the inspection of the programs offered by the Gulf Medical University. The visiting delegation was accorded a warm welcome by the Founder President, board of governors, Gulf Medical University Mr. Thumbay Moideen, Provost Prof. Gita Ashok Raj, various deans and the Ghanian medical students.
Speaking about the recognition, Prof. Gita Ashok Raj, said, “We are pleased to receive this important recognition, which is in many ways a strong indicator of the unparalleled educational experience we are providing for students that enroll at GMU. The foundation of these achievements is our faculty and staff who have embraced our vision for the future and dedicated themselves to serving our campus community. I am grateful for all their contributions and their commitment to students who will represent GMU and the next generation of leaders and innovators across the globe.”
During the visit, the delegates were briefed to an audio-visual presentation, followed by a visit to various medical faculties and departments. They were also introduced to the GMU’s educational pattern and the use of the most modern and advanced laboratories by the University to impart quality medical education to the students. The visiting team was highly impressed that the university had an international faculty and a student cohort from around 75 countries. Later, the visiting team interacted with the Ghanian students enrolled in the Gulf Medical University. They were deeply impressed by the academic, research and healthcare facilities at the Gulf Medical University and Thumbay Hospital & Research Center, Ajman.

With the launch of its twinning MBBS program with the Ghana University, the GMU campus has added a new feature to provide quality education in unexplored regions.
