Mangaluru, Nov 25: The 10th convocation ceremony of the undergraduate batch of 2011-12 and the post graduates batch of 2013-14 as well as the annual day celebration of A J Institute of Dental Sciences (AJIDS) was held on November 23 at 5.00 pm at the auditorium of A J Institute of Medical Sciences, here.
“Keep the human consideration in your profession alive,” said J Arun Chakravarthy, IPS, inspector general of police, western range, chief guest of the event. He stressed on the use of technology to improve professional skills and urged the graduates to keep service as the motive of their profession.
“Consider various job options in the field of dentistry and think out of the box,” suggested the professor Dr U S Krishna Nayak, dean, A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, who was guest of honour at the programme. He also stressed on the importance of rural service and the need to be updated about new prospects in the field.
The programme was presided over by Dr A J Shetty, president of Laxmi Memorial Education Trust (R). Principal, professor Dr Y Bharath Shetty welcomed the gathering. Associate principal, professor Dr Raghavendra Kini read the annual report. Professor Dr Nillan Shetty, gave the vote of thanks. Around 100 undergraduates and 40 post graduates received their graduation and post graduation degrees respectively.
