Chikkamagaluru, Nov 19: The policemen of the criminal investigation department are learnt to have made two more arrests relating to the abduction of Tejas Gowda and suicide by local deputy superintedent of police (DySP), Kallappa Handibag, after his name figured in the complaint.
The persons now arrested are Saleem (40) and Javed (41), businessmen from Gorur of Hassan district. They reportedly had provided shelter to Naveen Shetty, an accused in the case, who was arrested earlier. Both were produced in court after which they were sent to 14 days judicial custody.
The police however, have failed to find out the whereabouts of the main accused in the case, Praveen Khandya, who happens to be a leader of Vishwa Hindu Parishad. The policemen have no clue where Khandya is hiding, in spite of their best efforts in this direction, it is gathered. The officials therefore are thinking of declaring him to be a proclaimed offender through the court and take steps to attach his assets.
