Udupi, Nov 18: An old woman has filed a complaint in Kaup police station, alleging that she has been cheated by her son and son of her daughter, who had connived to create a fictitious will in the name of her deceased son to usurp property and benefits to which she happens to be the actual beneficiary.

The complaint was filed by Rajeevi (90), wife of the late Padmanabha Patri, resident of Kaup Padu village. Her son, Mohan, had died of cardiac arrest when working in the taluk office at Honnavar. As Mohan was not married, being the mother, she would have  inherited his property and got all government facilities to which he was eligible, she says.

Rajeevi has said that her other son, Uday Kumar, and daughter Sumitra's son, Bhavish Kumar, had together created a fake will in which they showed themselves as the beneficiaries of properties left behind and benefits accruing to Mohan. She said that the duo had planned to pocket all the money and assets for which she happens to be the sole claimant.

Kaup police have registered a case and begun investigation.
